Acting 9/10:  I really loved the acting in this film. Whoever casted J.K. Simmons deserves a medal. Simmons' performance is flawless, truly breathless with a terrifying presence. He makes the film as intense as it can get especially in the "Were you rushing or were you dragging" scene. The chemistry between Simmons and Teller is just great they're connected; one cannot act without it affecting the other. The film is almost entirely focused on this relationship

Overall Rating: 9/10

Would I recommend it?  Yes. I'm not a fan of jazz music but I loved the film. It's very intense and in my opinion this was the best film of 2014.

The Shawshank Redemption

This review will be on the movie The Shawshank Redemption

Background information:

Genres: Drama, and Crime Fiction.

Directed by Frank Darabont

Academy Awards: One of the Best movies of all time nominated for oscars but never won

Plot: Andy Dufresne is an innocent man sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison for the murders of his wife and her lover. While in prison he forms a friendship with Red, experiences brutality of prison life, all in 19 years.

Acting 9/10: Everyone did well acting but Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman really carried the movie. I especially enjoyed the narration in this movie by Morgan Freeman. Tim Robbins probably had a better performance in this movie over any other movie he has been in. I did really enjoy the chemistry between Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. Especially the "Get busy living or get busy dying" scene.

Overall Rating: 10/10

Would I recommend it?  It has a very well written ending if you do enjoy plot twists. Without a doubt watch it you won't regret it. It is after all in the discussion for greatest movie of all time.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest review!

This review will be on the movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest!

Background information:

Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Screenplay

Genre: Drama

Directed by Milos Forman

Main Cast: Jack Nicholson, Louise Fletcher, Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, and Brad Dourif

Released: 1975

Plot: The story follows Randle McMurphy, who, in an attempt to get out of spending more time in prison, pleads insanity for his crime, and is therefore sentenced to time in a mental institution. This was McMurphy's intention, as he believes the conditions in a crazy house will be significantly easier to contend with than another harsh stay in prison.

Acting: 10/10: The acting in this film is as good as the acting in any film in history in my opinion. Jack Nicholson as Randle McMurphy acts better here than ever which is a huge statement considering he has acted incredibly in other films as well such as 'Chinatown', 'The Shining', 'Batman', etc. Nicholson demonstrates exceptional understand and interpretation of the character. Its no surprise at all why he won the oscar for this film. Louis Fletcher in this film had a career defining role as Nurse Ratchet. She plays a hardened woman who is very stubborn and unlikeable. She definitely fit the role perfectly. I would consider her one of the great antagonists of all time. Again no surprise she was the oscar for this movie.

Overall Rating: 10/10

Would I recommend it? 100%. I love absolutely everything in this film. No matter what genres you enjoy you have to watch it. There is a very good reason why it is one of the only two films to win the 5 major Oscar awards. (Picture, Actor, Actress, Director, Screenplay)

The Usual Suspects Review

.My next review will be on the Film "The Usual Suspects"

Background information: Thriller, Drama film, Crime film

Academy Awards: Best Supporting Actor, and Best Original Screenplay

Directed by: Bryan Singer

Main cast: Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne, and Stephen Baldwin.

Released: 1995

Plot: The film follows the interrogation of Roger "Verbal" Kint, a small-time con man who is one of only two survivors of a massacre and fire on a ship docked at the Port of Los Angeles. He tells an interrogator a convoluted story about events that led him and his partners in crime to the boat, and about a mysterious mob boss known as Keyser Söze who commissioned their work. Using flashback and narration, Kint's story becomes increasingly complex.

Acting: 9/10: I loved the acting in this film. Whoever casted the characters did a great job. Kevin Spacey really did deserve the oscar for this movie. The way he tells the whole story makes it so believable and you have to love the way he says the quote "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist".  In my opinion it may have been his best performance ever.

Rating: 9/10 The writing in this film is really incredible. It just may have been the greatest ending of all time.

Would I recommend it? Definitely I would. In my opinion this is one of the greatest drama films of all time.

The Silence Of The Lambs

This review will be on the movie The Silence of The Lambs!

Background information:

Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Screenplay

Genres: Thriller, Drama, Horror, and Crime

Directed by Jonathan Demme

Main Cast: Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Ted Levine, and Scott Glenn

Released: 1991

Plot: Clarice Starling, a U.S. FBI trainee, seeks advice from Dr. Hannibal Lecter to apprehend a serial killer, known as "Buffalo Bill"

Acting 9/10: The acting in the movie was pretty outstanding so its no surprise Anthony Hopkins, and Jodie Foster won oscars for this film. Hopkins does a superb job as Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Even though he didn't have nearly as much screen time as Foster his performance is unforgettable.  He fit the role perfectly. Foster as well did a very good job in the film. She was a likable and smart character though Hopkins without a doubt stole the show.

Overall Rating: 9/10
